Sakata Paws

Whilst wandering through the aisles of our local supermarket recently, I stumbled across a new product that is worth mentioning.

SAKATA is not a new name when it comes to gluten free products but they have brought out single serve packs of their rice cracker snacks called "Paws" - each cracker in the shape of a little paw.

There are no artificial colours flavours or preservatives, have no added MSG have less than 6% fat and best of all are GLUTEN FREE.

They come in packs of 6 single serves, have 2 flavours - Original and Pizza Supreme and get the official thumbs up from Abbey.

Look out for them.  Great for lunchboxes.

  1. these cause reactions in kids due to the unlisted natural MSG - the flavoring is pretty poisonous. See Sue Dengates Fedup book

  2. The sole focus of my blog is to share our 'gluten free' lifestyle with others which includes sharing new products that we find hoping to lighten the load a little. It can be quite overwhelming to suddenly discover you are Coeliac or gluten intolerant and be thrust into a world of gluten free not knowing where to begin. A gluten free diet can be restricting but thankfully there are new GF products coming on to the market all the time. Consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables, unprocessed meat, poultry and fish, eggs nuts and legumes is primarily what we focus on in my family and I would encourage others to do the same but I do not deny my own the occasional indulgence. I in no way advocate the consumption of nasty additives and am well aware that some people can have nasty reactions to certain colours, flavours and additives. I consider the work that Sue Dengate does in educating people about this, more than commendable but at the same time isn't the onus on the consumer to be aware, educate themselves and shop smarter if more susceptible to such reactions? Careful reading of labels is crucial to a healthy way of life for a Coeliac or gluten intolerant person which personally is paramount regarding the health of my own family. If the ingredient to which you refer here is 'unlisted' it makes identification of such quite a difficult task for your average consumer wouldn't you think? I am hopeful that your comment was meant as constructive criticism and those sensitive to this will benefit from you identifying this ingredient.
